How to use eco-labelled rosemary essential oils

As many other plants, there exist a lot of different rosemary species. Therefore, there could exist as many types of rosemary essential oils. But let’s focus on three of them. Discover here their benefits, the way you should use them and why you should choose eco-labelled rosemary essential oil.

Rosmarinus officinalis L. camphoriferum is very effective in case of muscle contractions, cramps and sore muscles. Thanks to its neuromuscular and relaxing properties, it can also help sporty people prepare their muscles before a workout. To use this precious essential oil, add some drops in a little bit of oil. Mix well and apply on the concerned part of the body. It is important to note that Rosemary Camphor essential oil should only be used in massages.

Rosmarinus officinalis is generally useful in case of tiredness, fatigue and lack of concentration. It also has other interesting effects on greasy skin and on the hair. Finally, Rosemary Cineole can be a great ally during winter to fight sicknesses like cold, bronchitis or sinusitis. Be sure to mix just a little with some oil or your usual shampoo because it can be very strong. You can also diffuse it along with other essential oils (like Lemon or Eucalyptus).

Rosmarinus officinalis sb. Verbenone has great properties for skin. It can help with blemishes and skin imperfections like stretch marks. It is also effective in case of dry or mature skins. Moreover, Rosemary Verbenone can help if you suffer from fatigue or if you feel depressed, and to clean the airway when getting sick. Try to add a few drop of essential oil in some oil, milk or cream before applying it to your skin. You can also diffuse it along with some other essential oils (like Lemon or Eucalyptus) or use a few drops in a hot bath.

Contraindictions for rosemary essential oils

Even if pure essential oils are natural, they can be really strong and have side effects when used in the wrong way. Therefore, always make sure you take your doctor’s advice before using anything new on your skin or orally. We also advise you to test essential oils on your arm 24h before using them on your face.

Please note that Rosemary Camphor is not suitable for pregnant women due to its neurotoxic effects and abortion risks, nor for children under 7. Sensitive elderly, people with high blood pressure and epileptics should also avoid using this essential oil. These contraindications are the same for Rosemary Verbenone, except regarding people with high blood pressure. However, due to its progesterone-like effect, people with hormone-dependent cancer history should avoid this type of essential oil. Finally, pregnant and breast-feeding women and children younger than 6 should avoid using Rosemary Cineole essential oil. It is also not recommended for use in people with risk of epileptic occurrences or in asthmatic people.
