Native to Asia, this tropical tree with shiny, evergreen leaves grows to a height of 20 meters in the wild. The yellow flowers at maturity produce the best essential oil. Ylang-ylang provides an essential oil whose fragrance is unanimously appreciated for its warm, floral, exotic, round and feminine notes. It is hardly surprising that it is one of the essential oils that, through olfaction, can modify human behaviour.
